"I started working with Tony last year, right before a cyclocross season-ending collarbone break. I had originally chosen to work with Tony to bring accountability and control to my training. What I quickly learned after my injury was that Tony is an incredible motivator, mentor, and friend to his athletes. Tony helped me find the ways to keep active as I recovered, and then provided the encouragement I needed to get (and keep) training again.
As a previously coached athlete, I generally knew what worked for me and what didn't. Before my injury I had just come out of my best season ever on a self-directed plan. But, things still weren't clicking as well as they should've, and after the shock of a category upgrade I knew I needed advice and help to keep progressing.
Tony listened to my goals and my experience, reviewed my data, and developed a plan for me. I'm a big fan of technology-based training, so Tony mapped some of my workouts to TrainerRoad equivalents, which allowed me to meet my goals using the tools that I like. Tony also provides a long-term schedule, which is a rarity among cycling coaches. I've never had to ask for workouts, and I've always known what I'd be doing at least a week in advance.
In short, Tony makes being coached easy by working together to form a plan, helping you execute and providing accountability, all while making the adjustments that experience and knowledge bring. Tony also has great hair. And Tattoos."
